Job Title: Chemist II
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Chemist to join our team, focusing on quality control testing and laboratory operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong experience in chemical testing and analysis, as well as a commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy and efficiency in a laboratory setting.
Responsibilities
- Conduct testing including TLC, FT-IR, and composition testing, following USP monographs and general chapters.
- Perform wet chemistry testing, including loss on drying, pH, titrations, and solution preparations.
- Support daily laboratory operations, including glassware cleaning, solvent waste disposal, and daily/weekly balance calibrations.
- Assist upper-level Quality Control Chemists as needed.
- Perform strength testing using HPLC, GC, and/or ICP.
- Contribute to process and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Complete any additional duties as assigned by the Quality Control Lab Supervisor or Management.
- Be willing to work holidays and weekends as requested by the Quality Control Lab Supervisor or Management.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in chemistry, HPLC, quality control, gas chromatography, wet chemistry, and chromatography.
- Understanding of GMP and cGMP requirements.
- Experience in titration and laboratory operations.
- Ability to operate, analyze data, and troubleshoot general lab instrumentation.
- Skill in performing and interpreting data based on internal specifications and USP requirements.
- Capacity to multitask and manage samples efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to adapt and learn the requirements of cGMP, 21 CFR 111, SOPs, and Batch Records.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Knowledge of 21 CFR 210 and 211 is desirable.
- Proficiency in computer software including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills in English, with the ability to understand both oral and written instructions.
Work Environment
The role requires working in a laboratory environment with standard lab equipment. The position may require working holidays and weekends to meet the needs of the Quality Control Lab. Dress code adheres to safety and laboratory standards.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Largo, FL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $26.44 - $31.25/hr.
