Full-Time | $38,000–$43,000 + Benefits + Relocation Support

Overview

Aberdeen Community Theatre is seeking a Scenic Designer / Technical Director to lead the design and execution of scenic and technical elements across multiple productions each season. This is a hands-on role with a clear path to grow into a Technical Director position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and execute scenic elements for mainstage and youth productions
  • Oversee set construction, painting, and technical build-out
  • Support lighting and sound design as needed
  • Manage production timelines to ensure deadlines are met
  • Provide technical support during rehearsals and performances
  • Collaborate with staff and lead volunteers throughout the production process

Qualifications

  • Experience in scenic design, technical direction, or theatre production
  • Ability to manage projects from concept through execution
  • Hands-on experience with tools, construction, and stage equipment
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $38,000–$43,000 (based on experience)
