Salary: $110,000 - $130,000/year
Work Location: Hybrid, 2-3 days on-site in Capitol Hill, DC.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Product Manager/User Experience (UX) Designer to join our team. This agile development expert will be a key member of our hybrid development team.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of related experience required.
- Experience managing the delivery, ongoing success, and continuous improvement of one or more digital products and/or platforms.
- Experience communicating technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residency is required .
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical related discipline or High School Diploma/GED with relevant experience.
- Experience with Product Operations and Development, including Discovery, user research, design consultation, and product strategy;
- Expertise in driving digital product strategy, ensuring alignment with overall institutional objectives and stakeholder needs;
- Experience coaching technical teams in Agile Product Management and iterative product delivery best practices;
- Creating and managing detailed product roadmaps, prioritizing features, updates, and new product initiatives based on stakeholder feedback, usage trends, and institutional goals;
- Skilled at organizing and managing product backlogs, user stories, and developer issues in common product management tools like Clickup and GitLab;
- Experience leading and training others to lead common agile ceremonies such as Sprint Planning, Refinements, Daily Standups, Team Retros, and Sprint Demos;
- Demonstrated capability to communicate product vision, updates, and performance metrics to stakeholders, including senior leadership, ensuring transparency and alignment with leadership priorities.
- Ability to quickly grasp stakeholder needs and develop a deep understanding of customer goals, pain points, and perspectives;
- Demonstrated experience conducting stakeholder interviews, analyzing user requirements, creating interactive wireframes for applications, and implementing accessible designs;
- Track record of success with managing project design reviews, resource planning, and execution for all project work related to application and service design;
- Strong portfolio demonstrating user-centered design practices across digital and service touchpoints;
- Skilled in human-centered design, design thinking, and agile methodologies;
- Comfortable facilitating design sprints, workshops, and co-creation sessions;
- Experience with personas, user flows, user/journey mapping, storyboarding, and wireframing;
- Excellent written and verbal communication to present ideas and research findings clearly;
- Able to design interactive wireframes, mockups, and style-guides for web applications;
- Fluent with common tools for visual design and prototyping tools, such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, etc.;
Preferred Qualifications:
- Verifiable references for any House committees projects. Will require committee name; the name, title, email address, and phone number of the primary customer POC; a brief description of the deliverables; and the performance period for any references.
Desired qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of industry and/or public service practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, calm under pressure, excellence in triage prioritization
- Strong organizational and product management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Clearance Requirement: Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust.
The salary range for this position depends upon multiple factors including location, the individual's knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, and contract-specific budget constraints and organizational requirements.
