Job DescriptionPosition Summary
The Label Quality Control Specialist ensures the accuracy and compliance of all product labels across the inventory lifecycle. This role involves inspecting current label inventory, evaluating upcoming print proofs, and auditing documentation for incoming shipments. Operating with high autonomy, the Specialist logs discrepancies, collaborates with approval authorities for final dispositions, and partners with Production QC teams to resolve active manufacturing issues while maintaining the internal master label revision database.
Primary Responsibilities

  • Label Inspection & Auditing: Conduct physical and visual inspections of current inventory and upcoming print runs to identify text, layout, barcode, or formatting discrepancies.
  • Discrepancy Resolution: Document and report identified errors to the relevant approval authority to obtain formal dispositions (rework, release, or scrap).
  • Inbound Shipment Verification: Audit release forms and compliance documentation accompanying new shipments of labeling components to ensure total accuracy.
  • Production Coordination: Partner directly with floor Production QC teams to rapidly troubleshoot and resolve labeling issues occurring during active packaging lines.
  • Database Version Control: Manage and update the internal master database tracking historical label versions, change logs, and active revisions.


Job Requirements & Qualifications

  • Education: Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Attention to Detail: Precision visual acuity to spot subtle typographical, structural, or design shifts against reference standards.
  • Inspection Skills: Practical experience inspecting finished goods using standard sampling methods.
  • Deviation Documentation: Strong aptitude for professionally writing and archiving quality deviations and error profiles.
  • Team Collaboration: Excellent communication skills to coordinate cross-functionally across Production, Compliance, and Management groups.
  • Regulations & Safety: Ability to strictly enforce and maintain compliance with industry-specific regulations and workplace safety standards.
  • Project Management: Demonstrated capability to track, prioritize, and balance multiple label projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Independent Execution: Proven ability to work self-sufficiently and drive tasks to completion without structural micromanagement.
