You’ll care for a diverse cardiac population—including complex surgical and medical cardiac patients utilizing advanced circulatory support—while enjoying a supportive interdisciplinary team culture. Operating in a fast-paced, 22-bed CVICU, you’ll develop your proficiency using state-of-the-art technology and evidence-based protocols, while building relationships with experienced providers and assisting first-time travelers.
Schedule
- Travel position with 1-week comprehensive orientation (NEO, plus 2-3 days departmental onboarding)
- Opportunities to float to other critical care areas as needed
Qualifications
- Valid RN license and minimum 1 year of recent CVICU experience
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required; CCRN preferred
- EPIC charting experience preferred
- Proficiency with post-cardiac assessments and management of IABP, IMPELLA, LVAD, ECMO, and vasoactive titration
- Strong hemodynamic monitoring and cardiac waveform interpretation skills
Duties
- Deliver expert nursing care to post-operative and medical cardiac patients
- Manage and titrate critical care medications and utilize specialized equipment including CRRT (nxstage)
- Collaborate with intensivists, charge nurses, and ancillary staff
- Participate in patient/family education and advocate for high-quality care
- Flexibly support the broader critical care team
