Portfolio Manager | Commercial Banking

A growing commercial bank in San Diego County is seeking a Portfolio Manager to join its collaborative and relationship-focused banking team. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with Relationship Managers, commercial clients, and bank leadership while playing a key role in credit analysis, portfolio management, loan structuring, and relationship support.
This is an ideal opportunity for a Portfolio Manager, Senior Credit Analyst, Underwriter, or commercial banking professional who enjoys both the analytical and relationship side of commercial banking.

What You'll Do
- Analyze commercial lending opportunities and prepare credit recommendations
- Manage and monitor an existing portfolio of commercial banking relationships
- Partner closely with Relationship Managers on client strategy and portfolio performance
- Assist with loan structuring, renewals, modifications, and annual reviews
- Participate in client discussions and relationship support activities
- Identify credit risks and recommend appropriate solutions
- Support the growth, retention, and overall health of commercial banking relationships
- Collaborate with credit, lending, operations, and executive teams to ensure exceptional client service
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate combines strong credit skills with a collaborative, relationship-oriented mindset.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Commercial credit analysis and underwriting experience
- Strong financial statement analysis and cash flow evaluation skills
- Experience with Commercial & Industrial (C&I) and/or Commercial Real Estate (CRE) lending
- Ability to communicate effectively with both clients and internal stakeholders
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Collaborative, team-oriented approach to problem-solving and decision-making
- Portfolio management, underwriting, or commercial banking experience

Compensation
Target compensation: $140,000 $170,000+ base salary, depending on experience, qualifications, and overall level.
Additional flexibility may be available for highly qualified and senior candidates with extensive commercial banking and credit experience.
