DeJesus Industries – Boston Seaport
Company Overview
DeJesus Industries is a general contracting and development firm specializing in mid- to high-end residential and commercial construction. Our commercial division focuses on interior build-outs, finish trades, tenant improvements, and renovation projects ranging from $100,000 to $2,000,000. We operate with a structured, process-driven culture and partner with developers, general contractors, architects, building owners, and property managers across multiple states.
Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Construction Estimator with a proven ability to identify opportunities, respond to RFPs and ITBs, and secure profitable finish-trade and renovation contracts. This individual will be responsible for building out and formalizing our estimating systems, processes, and bid pipelines while independently driving successful bid responses.
The ideal candidate has a history of winning commercial work in interiors, drywall, framing, millwork, flooring, tile, and general renovations—and can show verified examples of secured contracts within the $100K–$2M range.
This is a full-time position, Monday–Friday, 8:15 AM to 4:00 PM with a one-hour unpaid lunch.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and respond to RFPs, ITBs, BidDocs, and addenda for commercial interior and finish-trade projects.
- Perform detailed quantity takeoffs, pricing, and cost analysis for scopes including framing, drywall, finishes, flooring, tile, and interior renovations.
- Build and formalize internal estimating systems, bid logs, and proposal workflows.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with general contractors, developers, architects, vendors, and property owners.
- Prepare complete bid packages, clarifications, alternates, and supporting documentation.
- Coordinate with project management and leadership teams to align bid strategies and hand off awarded projects.
- Monitor bid calendars, portals, and industry platforms to identify upcoming opportunities.
- Attend walkthroughs, pre-bid meetings, and site visits as needed.
- Track win/loss metrics and continuously improve estimating accuracy and hit rates.
- Represent DeJesus Industries with professionalism, clarity, and integrity in all correspondence and communications.
Qualifications
- Proven track record of securing commercial interiors or finish-trade projects from $100,000 to $2,000,000.
- Candidates must include verified examples in their résumé.
- Minimum 5–10+ years of estimating experience in commercial construction, preferably with subcontractors or GCs specializing in interiors.
- Strong proficiency in reviewing drawings, specs, technical documents, and bid instructions.
- Experience with estimating software and digital takeoff tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills—especially with GCs and developers.
- Ability to work in a structured, deadline-driven environment with a high level of accuracy and organization.
- Strong understanding of labor production rates, material pricing, subcontractor vetting, and bid risk evaluation.
- Detail-oriented, analytical, and able to build complete, competitive, and profitable bids.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while collaborating with leadership teams when needed.
What We’re Looking For
- A results-driven estimator who knows how to win work, not just price it.
- Someone who can build scalable systems for tracking, estimating, and submitting bids.
- A polished professional who communicates clearly with clients and partners.
- A strategic thinker who understands market conditions, competitiveness, and value engineering.
