Vice President of Manufacturing
Job Description
Our client, a rapidly growing, leading plastic and foam molding company located in Northeast Indiana, is seeking a Vice President of Operations to lead and optimize day-to-day manufacturing operations while developing and driving long-term operational strategy.
Reporting directly to the President, this high-impact executive role is responsible for productivity, efficiency, safety, and ensuring operational alignment with overall company objectives.
The VP of Operations will provide hands-on leadership across the organization, develop and execute operational strategies, manage a high-performing workforce, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to maximize profitability and shareholder value.
Your Impact:
- Lead all operational functions to ensure best-in-class productivity, efficiency, quality, and safety
- Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with company goals
- Maintain a strong presence on the shop floor while effectively partnering with executive leadership and the board
- Collaborate closely with the President on strategic planning and execution
- Oversee a broad span of control and champion continuous improvement initiatives
To be successful in this role, candidates should demonstrate:
- A hands-on leadership style with a strong working knowledge of core production processes
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and 5S methodologies (strongly preferred)
- Strong financial acumen, including understanding how operational performance impacts the income statement and balance sheet
- The ability to operate effectively at both the tactical and executive levels
What you will Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field (MBA or Master’s preferred)
- 10+ years of manufacturing operations experience, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role
- Experience in plastic injection molding is highly desirable
