Lead Production Coordinator (Aviation)
DESCRIPTION:
A Lead Production Coordinator is responsible for supervising the team of coordinators, managing daily operations, and ensuring compliance with schedules and quality standards. Primary responsibilities include coordinating workflows, mentoring and training personnel, handling logistics such as requesting parts, engaging with external services, and addressing any other requirements based on the scope of work. Additionally, the role involves resolving production issues to achieve project objectives. This leadership position generally demands exceptional organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Workflow and schedule management:
• Develop and manage production schedules, monitor progress, and ensure daily goals are met efficiently.
Planning / Material Department:
• Review work scope and/or RO to understand customer needs and properly plan workflow.
• Always maintain the Priority List.
• Daily updates on WO status.
• Maintain updated records of WO status: Locations, Parts Required, OSS Required, In House Repairs Required and COP Material.
• Follow up with the Purchasing Department regarding parts orders to include ETAs for proper production planning.
• Communicate with Stock room to make sure parts are available.
• Provide weekly status reports on current work orders.
• Communicate with the Inspection Department and Maintenance Department for proper scheduling.
• Generate schedule and timelines for all incoming work.
• Review inspection reports to schedule repairs and services as required.
• I.E Partial Repairs (Blend – In House / MPI – OSS).
• Ensure all parts returned to the stock room are properly removed and processed out of the work order.
• Communicate with customer service on parts or service issues with Work Orders.
Problem-solving:
• Act as a point of contact for troubleshooting issues, resolve conflicts, and implement corrective actions to keep production on track.
Resource and inventory management:
• Monitor and maintain inventory levels, coordinate equipment rentals, and ensure materials are handled correctly.
Quality and safety assurance:
• Ensure the production adheres to quality standards and conduct safety audits to maintain a safe working environment.
Cross-functional collaboration:
• Liaise with other departments like engineering, quality assurance, and management to optimize processes and communicate updates.
Reporting:
• Analyze data, track metrics, and generate reports on production performance, quality, and potential issues.
