Position Summary:
The person holding this position is responsible for operating plant equipment and completing other plant tasks as required
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Maintains adequate flow of material in gob and limestone systems.
2. Performs all preventative maintenance of gob and limestone systems during normal operations and during assignments to maintenance including outages.
3. Maintains gob and limestone systems by way of consistent housekeeping and other areas as directed by the Shift Supervisor.
4. Demonstrates safe working habits, identifies hazards, and takes corrective actions as approved by Shift Supervisor.
5. Assists the O&M Technician as required.
6. Studies to become qualified as an O&M Technician and/or Maintenance Technician.
7. Work schedule is rotating shifts, and successful candidate must be available for emergency call-ins, for relief shift duty, and for temporary assignments to assist mechanics in the maintenance department.
8. Other duties as assigned.
Required Job-Related Qualifications:
1. High school or vocational school diploma, or equivalent.
2. Knowledge of general mechanical equipment, including knowledge of general maintenance functions and operating procedures.
3. Ability to start up, operate and shut down material handling and water systems in the local control modes to maintain plant safety, efficiency and production.
4. Ability to perform routine inspections, trouble shooting and corrective actions, and reports timely information to the Shift Supervisor.
5. Familiarity with job site practices and procedures.
6. Demonstrated skills in the use of hand tools.
7. Knowledge and understanding of:
• Mobile equipment
• Occupational hazards and standard safety precautions necessary in the work
• Basic maintenance and repair skills
8. Ability to handle a variety of power tools in a safe manner.
9. Ability, under proper supervision, to locate, correct and adjust defects in mobile equipment and mechanical machinery.
10. Basic knowledge of mechanical drawings and schematics.
11. Ability to communicate, both written and oral, clearly, logically, and accurately.
12. Valid Pennsylvania driver's license required.
