Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Located in San Mateo, CA, this contract opportunity seeks a dedicated special education teacher to support students with diverse learning needs in a dynamic school environment. This role involves developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) to foster student growth and success.
Responsibilities include:
- Designing and delivering tailored instructional plans for students with special needs
- Collaborating with general education teachers, families, and support staff to create inclusive learning environments
- Monitoring and documenting student progress and adjusting teaching methods accordingly
- Maintaining compliance with state and federal education regulations
- Participating in professional development and team meetings
Desired qualifications:
- Valid special education teaching credential or certification
- Experience working with students who have diverse learning disabilities and behavioral challenges
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Knowledge of current special education laws and best practices
