Job Description

Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, active SLP license and 1+ year of Speech-Language Pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Onsite School- Based SLP

Qualifications

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program required.
  • Valid VA State Speech-Language Pathologist license.
  • Certificate of Clinical petence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) is preferred.
  • Previous experience working in a school setting is preferred.
  • Strong munication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Caseload:

  • provide SLP services to caseloads
  • develop IEPs
  • evaluate for speech language skills
  • write and present reports
  • plete progress reports
  • keep data

Pay: Hourly, dependent on experience

Performance Responsibilities:

  • Identify students with munication impairments.
  • Collaborate with other educational staff to determine the impact of munication impairment on student progress.
  • Develop and assist in the implementation of instructional and curricular modifications.
  • Provide materials that promote munication development to other educators and families. Participate in student IEP development and implementation.
  • Develop and maintain a caseload intervention schedule providing time for direct and indirect services, classroom collaboration and co-teaching, screenings and evaluations, materials preparation and voice output device programming.
  • Maintain student records and performance data.
  • Supervise speech/language-trained para-educator and graduate students as assigned.
  • Mentor to new speech/language pathologists.
  • Participate as required on Building Student Improvement Teams, speech/language department mittees and projects, special education mittees, projects, or audits.
  • Provide in-service to colleagues.
  • Must plete all Special Education paperwork including IEPs and Medicaid billing.
