Summary/Objective
The Electrical Engineer will leverage their extensive knowledge of electrical engineering theory and practice to oversee and enhance the electrical aspects of PFM’s projects. This role involves comprehensive review and analysis of project plans and specifications, ensuring all electrical engineering and construction elements meet required standards and are executed efficiently.
Essential Functions
- Project Analysis and Review: Assess electrical engineering and construction elements, including calculations for power demand load, feeder size, voltage drop, short circuit, circuit protection, illumination level, generator capacity, transformer sizes, and fire alarm requirements. Identify and address design deficiencies, preparing detailed requests for information as necessary.
- Project Scheduling and Management: Develop and manage critical path schedules, taking into account electrical systems, equipment requirements, and construction timelines. Monitor project progress and prepare reports such as critical path analysis, delay analysis, earned value analysis, and construction forecast analysis. Revise schedules and develop recovery plans when required.
- Construction Oversight: Direct and monitor the company's construction workforce to ensure compliance with plans and specifications. Prepare shop drawings and provide technical support to resolve design interpretation issues, system conflicts, and interferences during construction. Inspect completed installations for conformance to design and regulatory compliance.
- Cost Analysis and Payment Support: Prepare schedules of values for completed works and analyze cost factors for contract modifications and change orders. Support the preparation of contractor’s payment schedules for progress increments and develop as-built drawings and close-out documents.
- Project Close-out and Estimation: Prepare close-out documents and analyze electrical works plans and specifications for prospective projects. Perform scope determination, quantity take-offs, and cost estimates for electrical construction works and systems.

- Ability to prepare detailed RFIs and technical support documents.

- Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn about the project or product being developed.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- A minimum of three years of related construction experience is required.
- Thorough knowledge of project management.
- BA degree in Engineering or related degrees required.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
