JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Lead Maintenance Training Instructor/Developer
Department: MX Training
Reports To: Maintenance Training Instructor/Developer Manager
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Lead and direct subordinate crew members in the performance of tasks. Ensure satisfactory productivity and work quality.
- Coordinate with Manager on scheduling, assignment of daily job tasks, projects, and deadlines.
- Mentor Instructor/Developers through OJT completion and professional development as assigned by the Maintenance Training Instructor/Developer Manager.
- Work with Instructor/Developers to provide them with necessary technical information, guidance, images, or other data necessary for computer based or web-based training development.
- Evaluate Instructor/Developers as assigned. Provide feedback and report to the Maintenance Training Instructor/Developer Manager.
- Assist other Instructor/Developers with training related problems.
- Develop courses using the standardized course development process.
- Document and revise courses per standardized documentation process.
- Ensure the training course materials, for which they are responsible, are available, current, and updated.
- Be fully prepared (course materials, dress, etc.) to teach all assigned/scheduled classes.
- Ensure computerized training data (presentations, student handouts, etc.) are current and organized per department standard and available when needed for class.
- Write instructional materials to meet objectives, including interactive courseware, instructor and student materials, training aids, handouts for classroom and hands-on training sessions, application exercises, presentation materials, and other training support tools and documentation.
- Utilize a variety of training methodologies for presentation and delivery.
- Submit student evaluations, attendance forms, tracking and information forms, informal assessments, and other required student related documents for 100% of assigned students in accordance with directed timeline requirements.
- Complete and submit 100% of department forms (training documents, timesheets, professional development forms, materials/supplies tracking forms, expense reports, and other required staff-related documents) accurately and in accordance with directed timeline requirements.
- Maintain a thorough working knowledge of and adhere to policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Keep immediate the Instructor/Developer Manager well informed of all activities, results of efforts, and problems identified/potential problems. Recommend corrective actions to the Instructor/Developer Manager.
- Respect confidentiality in discussing staff, students, and company matters. Maintain confidentiality of personnel related information.
- Immediately notify the Maintenance Training Instructor/Developer Manager of any and all support services that students may need.
- Perform any other additional duties as assigned by the Maintenance Training Instructor/Developer Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent EDUCATION
- Knowledge of appropriate software including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills
- Airframe and or Powerplant mechanics certification is preferred but not required.
- Prior Aviation training background is preferred but not required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
The ability to read, write and understand English. Strong attention to detail.
