The Drafter will be responsible for converting architectural and structural drawings into detailed mechanical-style fabrication drawings for ACM and sheet metal components. This role requires strong CAD proficiency, attention to detail, and an ability to optimize designs for CNC production. The ideal candidate is experienced in drafting for fabrication, understands material constraints, and can collaborate with internal teams to ensure manufacturability and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret architectural and structural drawings and create detailed fabrication drawings for ACM and sheet metal.
  • Ensure all drawings align with manufacturing capabilities, material constraints, and installation requirements.
  • Maintain organized drawing files, version control, and design standards to streamline operations.
  • Assist in developing standard drafting workflows for ACM and sheet metal fabrication.
  • Adapt to tight project deadlines and last-minute revisions while maintaining precision.
  • Work closely with project managers, fabricators, and installers to ensure design feasibility and compliance with industry standards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned or required to meet the evolving needs of the business.

Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of experience in architectural drafting or mechanical drafting, preferably in a fabrication or manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (required); experience with SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar CAD software is a plus.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings and translate them into fabrication-ready drawings.
  • Experience with sheet metal fabrication, ACM panels, or architectural metalwork is highly preferred.
  • Understanding of CNC programming and fabrication processes (not required, but a plus).
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to ensure accuracy in fabrication drawings.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
