Shop Manager
Full-Time | Monday–Friday Schedule | $75,000–$90,000 Annually | Exempt
Position Overview
This role requires prior experience supervising personnel in a shop, field, or operations environment and is not an entry-level position.
I&S Inc. of NY is seeking a Shop Manager to oversee daily shop operations, lead personnel, and ensure equipment readiness to support field operations. This position plays a critical role in maintaining an efficient, organized, and safety-focused shop environment.
This is a hands-on leadership role best suited for an individual who excels at managing people, coordinating workflow, and maintaining operational efficiency. Mechanical experience is valued; however, the company will support the right candidate in learning specific equipment and processes.
Schedule & Work Environment
- Full-time, steady Monday–Friday schedule
- Primarily shop-based with occasional coordination of field repairs
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary Range: $75,000 – $90,000 annually, based on experience

Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of mechanics and fabricators
- Promote a safe, organized, and productive shop environment
- Plan and prioritize work in coordination with operations
- Oversee equipment maintenance and repair to ensure readiness
- Manage parts ordering and maintain inventory levels
- Maintain work orders, service records, and documentation
- Deploy personnel for field service as needed
- Review and manage shop-related expenses
- Provide hands-on support with repairs when necessary
Qualifications
Required:
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a supervisory or management role within a shop, mechanical, construction, or similar environment
- Demonstrated experience leading and holding a team accountable for performance and safety
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage workflow, scheduling, and multiple priorities
- Ability to effectively communicate with both field personnel and leadership
- Basic computer proficiency
Preferred:
- Mechanical repair and maintenance experience (heavy equipment or similar industry)
- Experience managing shop operations, fleet maintenance, or equipment programs

This position requires prior experience managing employees in an operational or shop environment. Candidates without supervisory experience may not be considered.
