POSITION: Residential Advisor
LOCATION: Santa Clara, CA
TYPE: Full-time
Shifts: Day shift Sunday - Thursday, 7:30am - 4pm
INDUSTRY: Non-profit, social services
PAY: $25.37 /hr

Our client is a non-profit organization providing housing and support services to Youth/Young Adults & families facing homelessness.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Resident Advisor will provide supervision and delivery of residential services to residents, within the framework of the Mission Statement, Policies and Procedures. This position is required to adhere to all agency policies/procedures and practices (time/attendance, cell phone, telecommunications, safety, alert).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provide supervision of the shelter, including coverage of the various areas of the facility.
• Perform duties in accordance with established policies and procedures
• Answer telephones and monitor clients’ use of phone
• Complete paperwork as assigned
• Review clients’ files on a regular basis
• Work directly with clients doing triage, (i.e., field/needs/incident questions)
• Inspect common areas for cleanliness and safety on a daily basis
• Monitor clients in the shelter
• Be alert to clients and surroundings even during one-on-one conversations
• Develop knowledge of the current community resources available to clients.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Minimum of 1 year of experience working with youth, young adults, or similar settings.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and strong organizational skills.
• Computer literate (Word, Outlook, ACCESS, etc.)
• Self-starter and team player with the ability to work with other staff members, clients, vendors and the public.
• Must have a valid CA driver’s license and good driving record
• May need to transport clients/staff if required using agency transportation.
• Knowledgeable in: Adolescent Development, Crisis Intervention, Multi-Cultural Awareness, CPR & FIRST AID.
ELIGIBLE BENEFITS (after conversion/520 working hours):
• In addition to sick time, employees qualify for accrued vacation that starts at two weeks in the first year and increases to three weeks in the second year and four weeks in the third year. Accruals do not begin until after the 90-day introductory period.
• We offer up to eleven paid company holidays, depending on an employees defined work schedule they may receive holiday pay for a day off or holiday double time for hours worked.

• We also offer a deferred contribution retirement plan that employees are eligible for after 90 days. After a year of employment, they qualify for a company match up to 3% and a non-matching annual retirement contribution.
