We are seeking a skilled fitter to join our team, specializing in the fabrication of silencers, pressure vessels, and large valves, primarily using carbon steel. The role involves fitting and fabricating vessels, pipes, and shells, as well as fitting lifting supports, legs, and weld caps onto pipes. The fitter will also be responsible for fitting up flanges and nozzles, burning holes, cleaning them, and ensuring they are beveled and squared up. Proficiency in reading blueprints and performing basic math is essential. Light welding, using MIG and flux, and operating various fabrication machines such as presses, punches, saws, and torches are also part of the job.
Responsibilities
- Fabricate silencers, pressure vessels, and large valves using carbon steel.
- Perform fitting and fabricating of vessels, pipes, and shells together.
- Fit lifting supports, legs, and weld caps onto pipes.
- Fit up flanges and nozzles onto materials.
- Burn holes, clean them, and ensure they are beveled and squared up.
- Read blueprints and perform basic math calculations.
- Conduct light welding using MIG and flux techniques.
- Operate fabrication machines such as presses, punches, saws, and torches.
Essential Skills
- 5 years of fitting and fabrication experience.
- Ability to fit vessels and pipes.
- Proficient in reading blueprints.
- Skilled in MIG, flux welding, and using a plasma torch.
- Experience with fabrication and pipe fitting.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with various gauges of material.
- Ability to use fabrication machines.

Work Environment
Work in a clean, air-conditioned shop. The work schedule is from 6pm to 6am, Monday through Friday, with most Saturdays and Sundays, currently operating under a 13-day on, 1-day off schedule, though this may change.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, TX.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $29.00/hr.
