Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Truck Driver to join our team. This position is responsible for operating shuttle service vehicles and bulk tanker trucks to transport materials efficiently and safely between designated locations while adhering to all transportation laws and regulations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Operate tractor-trailer / bulk tankers in a safe and efficient manner
- Transport materials, goods, and products between designated locations, following predetermined routes and schedules
- Load and unload materials from trucks, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure roadworthiness and compliance with safety regulations
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle inspections, electronic log, mileage, fuel consumption, and deliveries
- Adhere to all applicable traffic laws, regulations, and company policies while operating vehicles
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and other team members to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve any issues or concerns
- Follow proper procedures for the safe handling and transportation of hazardous materials, if applicable
- Perform routine maintenance on vehicles, such as checking oil levels, tire pressure, and brakes, and report any mechanical issues to the appropriate personnel
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment within the vehicle and at designated facilities
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Proven experience as a truck driver, preferably with experience in shuttle service and bulk tanker transportation
- Clean driving record with no recent traffic violations or accidents
- Strong understanding of transportation laws, regulations, and safety procedures
- Ability to operate and maneuver large vehicles safely in various weather and road conditions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to undergo background checks and drug screenings as required by company policy and regulatory agencies
- Flexibility to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays as needed to meet delivery schedules and customer demands
Education
Minimum:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL Class A) with appropriate endorsements for operating tractor-trailer and bulk tanker trucks
- Tanker (N) endorsement required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit for long periods of time, up to the entire duration of the shift
- Ability to operate a vehicle in various weather conditions
- Ability to maintain a high level of alertness and awareness of surroundings
- Ability to perform manual tasks, including securing loads and handling equipment.
