Job Description\n
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night Med/Surg position requiring EPIC charting experience and trauma exposure in Illinois.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
- Position is in a hospital Med/Surg unit
- Night shift schedule, 7:00PM to 7:30AM, three 12-hour shifts per week
- Care provided to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
- Utilizes specialized equipment such as IV access devices, chest tubes, PCA machines, blood glucose monitors, and Kangaroo pumps
- Requires use of EPIC EMR system
- Provides initial assessment, develops and implements plans of care, and revises based on patient needs
- Performs and assists with unit-specific procedures and patient therapies
- Ensures timely and accurate documentation and medication administration
- Promotes patient safety through adherence to safety protocols and fall prevention measures
- Engages in effective interdisciplinary communication and collaboration
- Delegates tasks to HCTs and validates completion
- Documents and communicates all aspects of care according to unit standards
- May not remain on assignment for more than one year; 6-month break required before returning
- RTO (requested time off) cannot exceed 7 days during the 13-week contract

- Active Illinois RN license or valid temporary license required
- Minimum of one year of relevant nursing experience
- Associate's degree in Nursing (ASN) required
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
- Previous Level 1 Trauma experience required
- EPIC charting experience required
- Fluency in English (speak, read, write)
- Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility (no local candidates accepted)
