Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night Med/Surg position requiring EPIC charting experience and trauma exposure in Illinois.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Position is in a hospital Med/Surg unit
  • Night shift schedule, 7:00PM to 7:30AM, three 12-hour shifts per week
  • Care provided to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
  • Utilizes specialized equipment such as IV access devices, chest tubes, PCA machines, blood glucose monitors, and Kangaroo pumps
  • Requires use of EPIC EMR system
  • Provides initial assessment, develops and implements plans of care, and revises based on patient needs
  • Performs and assists with unit-specific procedures and patient therapies
  • Ensures timely and accurate documentation and medication administration
  • Promotes patient safety through adherence to safety protocols and fall prevention measures
  • Engages in effective interdisciplinary communication and collaboration
  • Delegates tasks to HCTs and validates completion
  • Documents and communicates all aspects of care according to unit standards
  • May not remain on assignment for more than one year; 6-month break required before returning
  • RTO (requested time off) cannot exceed 7 days during the 13-week contract

\n \n Requirements\n

  • Active Illinois RN license or valid temporary license required
  • Minimum of one year of relevant nursing experience
  • Associate's degree in Nursing (ASN) required
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
  • Previous Level 1 Trauma experience required
  • EPIC charting experience required
  • Fluency in English (speak, read, write)
  • Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility (no local candidates accepted)
