SUMMARY

The International Trade Operations Officer II performs a variety of routine daily tasks, such as providing International Trade Services and other basic financial needs to the bank customers with accuracy, speed, efficiency and professional standards. It is required that you have a thorough knowledge of the Company’s policies and procedures. Additionally, the International Trade Operations Officer II provides necessary training and supervises staff for successful operations and proper customer service.

Ensures compliance with established Bank policies and procedures. Demonstrates knowledge of, adherence to, monitoring and responsibility for compliance with state and federal regulations and laws as they pertain to this position including but not limited to the following: GLBA (Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act), Regulation Z (Truth in Lending Act), Regulation DD (Truth in Savings Act) Regulation B (Equal Credit Opportunity Act), Dodd–Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act (Dodd Frank Act), Elder Abuse Laws, Bank Secrecy Act in conjunction with the USA PATRIOT Act, Anti-Money Laundering and Customer Information Program, Right to Financial Privacy Act (state and federal) and Community Reinvestment Act.


REQUIRED DUTIES

1. Reviews and approves trade transactions under the supervision of International Trade Operations Supervisor and/or International Trade Operations Officer such as processing Import, Export, Standby, Back-to-back and Transfer Letters of Credit and Documentary Collections, as well as loan payments and related transactions such as wire transfers and accounting entries.

2. Posts data entries and update information to Trade Finance System and Bank’s core accounting system.

3. Maintains various accounting ledgers, transaction records and customer file maintenance including customer agreements follow-up.

4. Reviews and approves transaction under his/her authority approved by International Trade Operations Manager.

5. Reviews and reconciliation of transaction reports and exception items.

6. Organizes and provides necessary training including bank’s policies, procedures and regulatory compliance.

7. Provides exceptional service in handling customers in person, via telephone, or via email.

8. Reports to International Trade Operations Manager if transactions are over authority limits or exceptionally complex and/or suspicious.

9. Administration and maintenance including enhancement of various equipment and/or system such as Trade Finance Program, Trade Services Online, Axletree SWIFT system, etc.

10. Handles and resolves operations related inquiries and problems or complaints to maintain customer satisfaction.

11. Responsible for loss prevention in the processing all transactions and duties.

12. Keeps work stations neat, clean and well organized.

13. Complies with the Bank’s Policies and Procedures, including but not limited to: Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-money Laundering, OFAC, Anti-Boycott, USA Patriot Act, Consumer Privacy and other compliance policies and procedures as required by the bank.

14. Acquires knowledge on functions and usage of computer systems as related to the assigned job functions.

15. Attends training on Trade Regulations and Case studies to improve knowledge in the relative field.

16. Ensures excellent internal and external written and verbal communication with customers and coworkers.

21. Performs duties specific to the position and other functions as assigned.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

These specifications are general guidelines based on the minimum experience normally considered essential to the satisfactory performance of this position. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to perform the position in a satisfactory manner. Individual abilities may result in some deviation from these guidelines.

• High School Diploma, and minimum 3 years of related experience and/or training; some college preferred; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Work related experience should consist of an in-depth background in International Trade Operations and supervisory skills. Educational experience, through in-house training sessions, formal school or financial industry related curriculum, should be applicable to the financial industry.

• Advanced knowledge of related international trade and compliance regulations and terminology.

• Ability to effectively train and instruct others in a formal classroom or one-on-one environment.

• Intermediate skills in computer terminal and personal computer operation, mainframe computer system, word processing, typing and spreadsheet software programs to meet the needs of the position.

• Intermediate math skills; ability to calculate interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages; balance accounts; add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals; locate routine mathematical errors; compute rate, ratio and percent, including the drafting and interpretation of bar graphs.

• Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions and instruct others, train personnel, write reports, correspondence and procedures, and speak clearly to customers and employees.

• Thorough understanding of bank policy and procedures; initiative to develop strategies and procedures to accomplish department or Bank goals.

• Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or customer complaints.

• Ability to deal with complex problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations.

• Ability to remain flexible in order to adapt to changes in the work environment and apply new information.

• Ability to take initiative and prioritize tasks; good time-management, problem prevention, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work with no supervision while performing duties.


Pay $62,000 - $103,000 per year. The salary reflects the full, reasonably expected salary range for this position. Salary is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. Successful candidates may be eligible for bonus, stock, commissions, and incentives at the Company’s sole discretion.
