BlazerJobs is partnering with Kansas City Kansas Public Schools to hire 21 Special Education Teachers for the 2026–2027 school year. These roles span elementary, middle, high school, and alternative education settings, offering a wide range of classroom environments.

The basics (all positions):

  • Schedule: Full-time
  • Dates: August 2026 – May 21, 2027
  • Positions: 21 total openings
  • Grade levels: K–12
  • Onsite or remote: Onsite only

Openings by level:

  • Elementary School SPED: 10 teachers
  • Middle School SPED: 5 teachers
  • High School SPED: 4 teachers
  • Bridges Program (Alternative School – Severe Behaviors): 2 teachers (all grade levels)

What you’ll be doing:

  • Delivering specially designed instruction aligned with IEP goals
  • Supporting students across a range of disabilities and support needs
  • Managing caseloads and collaborating with related service providers
  • Implementing behavior supports and classroom interventions
  • Working within general education inclusion, resource, or self-contained settings (varies by placement)
  • Supporting students in alternative education settings (Bridges program roles)

What you’ll need:

  • Active Kansas Special Education teaching license (required)
  • License must be verified prior to submission
  • Experience in school-based SPED settings strongly preferred
  • Ability to work across K–12 grade levels depending on assignment
  • Strong classroom management and collaboration skills
  • Experience with behavioral needs is a plus (especially for Bridges program roles)
