Summary
We are seeking a reliable, energetic, and nurturing PK4 Teacher Assistant to support our Lead Teacher in a structured and engaging preschool classroom for 4-year-olds. The ideal candidate enjoys working with young children, follows classroom routines, and supports a positive learning environment.
Duties
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Lead Teacher with daily classroom activities and lesson implementation
- Assist with supervision, transitions, meals, toileting, and nap time
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom
- Support children’s social-emotional development and positive behavior
- Engage with children during play, small groups, and learning centers
- Follow all NC Child Care Licensing rules and center policies
- Assist with daily communication and classroom documentation as needed
Requirements
Qualifications
- Early Childhood Credential + 6 Early Childhood Education college credits
- Experience working with preschool-aged children preferred
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Must pass background check and health requirements

About Us
Magic Carpet Academy is a Child Care Center in Wilson, NC opening in September 2021. The center will offer child care services for children ages 0 to 5 using the Experience Early Learning Curriculum. In addition to excellent childcare and high quality early education, the center will focus on cultural integration which aims to develop globally competitive individuals to become future ambassadors. The center will actively engage children in learning using the multi-faceted indoor classrooms and the nature outdoor learning environment.
Mrs. Reynalin Barnes, Owner and Site Director of Magic Carpet Academy, is backed by 20 years of experience in education, both in teaching and administration. Mrs. Barnes has a Masters Degree in Mathematics Teaching and a Diploma in School Administration. She possesses a license as a teacher, a NC K-12 Principal and was named Teacher of Year in 2009 and 2012. She is also a Level III Early Childhood and School Age Administrator.
