Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This opportunity is for experienced Special Education Teachers to serve students in a K-12 school setting in South Carolina. The position offers a contract spanning the current school year with an emphasis on providing quality education in both Pre-K and high school environments. Candidates will be placed onsite in classrooms designed to meet diverse educational needs.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing instruction and support for students in a self-contained, 3- to 4-year-old Pre-K classroom, requiring an Early Childhood and Multi-Categorical endorsement
- Managing a high school special education resource caseload of approximately 22-25 students
- Potentially serving as a high school self-contained special education teacher for about 10 students
- Collaborating with school staff and families to implement individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Maintaining required documentation and records in compliance with state regulations
- Performing physical tasks related to classroom support and student assistance
Qualifications:
- Active South Carolina Teaching License with Multi-Categorical and Early Childhood endorsements
- Experience working with special education students across multiple grade levels
- Ability to meet physical demands associated with supporting young learners
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment
