Medicare Member Services Specialist | Details and Compensation:
- Location: Akron OH 44305 – 100% On-site
- Payrate: $18/hr
- Required Availability: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM
Medicare Member Services Specialist | Summary and Highlights:
The Medicare Member Services Specialist willserve as a vital link between Medicare Advantage members and their health plan. This role is focused on outreach, retention, and enrollment changes—keeping customer satisfaction and compliance top of mind. Seeking a strong communicator with a passion for helping others!
- This position is a contract assignment with potential to hire on permanently based upon attendance, performance, and business needs
- Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment and include health, optical, dental, life, and short-term disability insurance
- A 401(k) with a company match is available for full-time employees with 1 year of service on our eligibility dates
Medicare Member Services Specialist | Responsibilities:
- Conduct outbound calls to Medicare members at risk of disenrollment or recently enrolled, using compliance-approved scripts.
- Assist members in completing Medicare Advantage plan changes and tracking related data.
- Document all communications and activities in the call management system.
- Support internal teams with outreach events and plan benefit presentations as needed.
- Follow up on incomplete applications, assist members with obtaining Part B coverage, and provide benefit education.
- Maintain current knowledge of CMS guidelines and Medicaid programs, including MyCare Ohio.
- Deliver exceptional internal and external customer service in a professional and respectful manner.
Medicare Member Services Specialist | Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- Attendance: Commitment to mandatory attendance during the first 90 days.
- Previous experience in customer service, especially in a Medicare/health insurance setting, required.
- Familiarity with CMS rules, plan designs, and benefits is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Must be flexible and able to adjust work hours as needed.
- Must maintain confidentiality of member and business information.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required.
- Experience using MACESS, MARx, and Amisys systems is a bonus (training provided)
