- Patient Assessment: Conduct comprehensive workups, including detailed medical history, chief complaint documentation, and visual acuity testing.
- Diagnostic Testing: Perform specialized testing including Intraocular Pressure (IOP), Visual Fields, and Ultrasound.
- Advanced Imaging: Operate OCT, OCTA, FA, and FP to aid in the diagnosis of complex ocular conditions.
- Clinical Assistance: Provide hands-on assistance during in-office procedures and injections; serve as a medical scribe to ensure real-time, accurate documentation in the EHR.
- Patient Education: Clearly communicate pre-operative and post-operative instructions and provide guidance on the administration of prescribed medications.
- Operational Excellence: Maintain an efficient patient flow to minimize wait times; ensure workup rooms, exam rooms, and technician station are stocked (with supplies, consent forms, and patient information), sanitized, and meet all infection control protocols.
- On-Call Rotation: Participate in a rotating after-hours emergency call schedule, including weeknights, weekends, and holidays, to support Ophthalmologists.
- Professional Development: Obtain/Maintain COA, CRT, and/or OSC certifications by participating in training and continuing education programs to enhance skills and stay briefed on the latest advancements in ophthalmic technology.
- Performs other duties as assigned: Performing any other duties as assigned by management.
