Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A full-time special education teacher position is available for a Middle School Life Skills classroom, serving grades 6-8. This travel assignment is located in Ledyard, CT, and runs from ASAP through the end of the school year. This role is ideal for educators passionate about supporting students with diverse learning needs in a self-contained environment.
Responsibilities include writing, implementing, and monitoring Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) to ensure each student receives tailored support. The teacher will work closely with students, families, and school staff to promote academic and social development in alignment with student goals.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification
- Experience working with middle school students, preferably in a Life Skills or self-contained classroom
- Strong knowledge of IEP development and compliance
- Ability to adapt instruction to meet individual student needs
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Location & Assignment:
- Travel position based in Ledyard, CT
- Full-time schedule from ASAP to the end of the current school year
