What Youll Do:

• Operate yard equipment: front end loaders, forklifts, yard trucks, with main emphasis on skid steers
• Handle and load a variety of products; truck to truck, truck to warehouse, warehouse to truck.
• Learn to become proficient in the handling of small and large hardwood logs--movingthem from place to place around the yard, loading logs into intermodal containers, unloading logs from flatbed trucks, etc.
  
• Operate equipment and perform manual tasks to remove ice and snow in winter conditions, and ensure worksite cleanliness by cleaning and leveling gravel at the end of each shift.
• Inspect and service daily use equipment, report any machine defects promptly and through appropriate channels.
• Collaborate closely with drivers, dispatch, and yard staff to keep operations moving.
• Follow all safety protocols, DOT regulations, and company policies.
• Check physical logs against paper records to ensure the correct logs are accounted for and loaded into the correct containers.
• Overtime: During peak season mandatory overtime may be required.

What Were Looking For:

• Previous experience in intermodal yard operations or heavy equipment operation required.
  • 2 years of Skid Loader experience is mandatory
    
  • Front-end loader and picker truck operator experience preferred
• Ability to safely operate heavy equipment such as forklifts and skid steers.
• Strong safety awareness and commitment to following procedures.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid drivers license; CDL is a plus but not required.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to regularly lift, carry, push, and pull items up to 5075 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, reach, and twist for most of an 812 hour shift.
• Comfort working on concrete floors and climbing in and out of trailers or onto docks.
• Ability to safely operate pallet jacks, forklifts, and other materialhandling equipment.
• Physical stamina to work in a fastpaced, repetitive environment.
• Comfort working outdoors or in dock areas with varying temperatures and around moving trucks and equipment.
