Position Overview
GTI is seeking an S&OP Manager to own and lead the Sales & Operations Planning process for the Phoenix/Goodyear manufacturing operation. This role is responsible for aligning demand, supply, capacity, and inventory to support customer commitments and operational execution.
The S&OP Manager serves as the central owner of the monthly and weekly planning cadence, translating commercial demand into executable production and supply plans while proactively identifying risks and tradeoffs. This role is highly cross-functional and critical to schedule reliability, delivery performance, and growth readiness.
Key Responsibilities
S&OP Process Ownership
- Own the end-to-end S&OP process, including demand review, supply review, and executive alignment
- Establish and maintain a structured monthly and weekly S&OP cadence
- Ensure alignment between Sales, Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Finance
Demand Planning & Forecasting
- Partner with Sales and Commercial leadership to develop and maintain demand forecasts
- Analyze demand drivers, order patterns, backlog, and forecast accuracy
- Identify demand risks, upside opportunities, and timing shifts
Supply, Capacity & Production Planning
- Translate demand plans into supply and capacity plans for manufacturing
- Partner with Operations and Production Control to validate labor, equipment, and throughput assumptions
- Identify capacity constraints and recommend mitigation plans
- Support make/buy and load-balancing decisions as needed
Inventory & Material Alignment
- Align inventory strategy with demand and production plans
- Partner with Supply Chain to ensure material availability supports the production plan
- Monitor inventory levels, turns, and exposure risks
Scenario Planning & Risk Management
- Develop scenario-based plans to evaluate demand changes, capacity constraints, and supply disruptions
- Proactively identify risks to delivery, revenue, or margin
- Present tradeoffs and recommendations to leadership
Performance Tracking & Reporting
- Track and report key S&OP metrics including forecast accuracy, schedule adherence, capacity utilization, and delivery performance
- Provide clear, data-driven insights to leadership
- Continuously improve planning accuracy and execution discipline
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Facilitate S&OP meetings and drive accountability across functions
- Serve as the neutral integrator between commercial and operational teams
- Ensure decisions are documented, communicated, and executed
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Business, or related discipline
- 8+ years of progressive experience in supply chain, production planning, demand planning, or S&OP leadership within manufacturing
- Minimum 3–5 years of direct people management experience Experience supporting manufacturing or industrial operations
- Strong understanding of production planning, capacity planning, and supply chain fundamentals
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional planning processes
- Strong analytical, communication, and facilitation skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in complex, build-to-order or engineered-to-order manufacturing environments
- Experience in energy, infrastructure, or industrial manufacturing sectors
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and planning tools
- Experience building or maturing an S&OP process
- Comfort presenting to senior leadership
