Ophthalmic Technician/ Receptionist
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technician/Receptionist to join our busy ophthalmology practice. Looking for someone eager to learn — full training provided
Responsibilities:
• Prepare patients for eye examinations by obtaining medical and ocular histories
• Perform preliminary testing including visual acuity, intraocular pressure, and refractions
• Conduct diagnostic testing such as OCT, and visual fields
• Assist physicians during patient exams
• Administer eye drops and medications as directed by the physician
• Educate patients on treatments, medications, and post-visit instructions
• Maintain exam rooms, equipment, and supplies
• Provide excellent customer service and ensure a welcoming environment for patients
• Greeting and checking in patients with professionalism and warmth
• Answering phones and scheduling appointments
• Insurance authorizations and updating patient records
• Collecting copays and processing payments
• Coordinating with doctors and clinical staff
• Maintaining a clean and organized front desk
Qualifications:
• Previous receptionist or medical office experience preferred
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn medical software
• Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
• Basic computer experience
• High school diploma or equivalent required
