Job Description:We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer II to provide hands-on support for product development and customized engineering solutions within a collaborative, cross-functional environment. This role focuses on mechanical design, analysis, validation, and product support throughout the development lifecycle. The ideal candidate is adaptable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working closely with engineering, manufacturing, and commercial teams to deliver reliable, high-quality products for demanding applications.
Responsibilities:
- Develop mechanical designs and customized solutions from concept through validation and production readiness
- Create 3D models, detailed drawings, and technical documentation to support new and existing products
- Perform mechanical analysis including stress, fatigue, durability, and simulation to validate designs
- Support product launches and assist with transitioning designs from development into established product platforms
- Identify technical and project risks and support mitigation efforts throughout development activities
- Select materials and recommend manufacturing processes based on performance and application requirements
- Build, assemble, and test prototypes to verify functionality and compliance with specifications
- Process engineering change requests and support design updates for customer-specific applications
- Assist with corrective action investigations and implementation of long-term design solutions
- Provide technical guidance and informal mentorship to junior engineers and designers
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 3–7 years of experience in mechanical design and product development
- Strong understanding of structured product development processes and risk management principles
- Experience with mechanical analysis tools, including FEA and functional modeling
- Proficiency with 3D CAD and solid modeling software
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and electronic drawings and specifications
- Familiarity with applicable regulatory standards such as UL, NEC, and NFPA preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently while meeting deadlines
