Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Certification and minimum 2+ years Surgical Tech / Operating Room Tech experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An opportunity is available for an experienced Operating Room Technician (ORT) with strong neuro and orthopedic skills to support surgical teams in a hospital setting. This contract position involves critical support for a variety of surgical procedures including neuro, orthopedic trauma, total joint replacements, peripheral vascular, and cardiovascular cases. Candidates must demonstrate expertise in neuro-specific surgery and be prepared to provide neuro call support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist surgical teams during procedures by preparing and sterilizing instruments and equipment
- Support neuro and orthopedic surgeries, including total joint replacements and ortho trauma cases
- Maintain a sterile environment and ensure compliance with operating room protocols
- Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and other medical staff to facilitate efficient surgical flow
- Adapt to varying start times and flexible schedules as needed within the OR
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years recent experience in operating room settings, with neuro specialization required
- Proficient in handling neuro cases and call coverage
- Experience with orthopedic cases including total joints and trauma
- Knowledge of peripheral vascular and cardiovascular procedures is preferred
- Certification through NBSTSA or NCCT active at time of application
- Familiarity with Epic and da Vinci surgical systems is a plus
- Must be able to float within the OR as needed and work weekends or holidays on occasion
Schedule Details:
- 10-hour shifts with variable start times (0700, 0900, 1100, 1300, or 1500)
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as required
- Limited return-to-office days capped at no more than 7 days
