We are looking for an experienced Health and Safety Engineer to join our client's team in Milpitas, California. In this role, you will oversee the implementation and maintenance of programs designed to ensure workplace safety and environmental compliance. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in fostering a culture of continuous improvement by identifying risks, conducting audits, and implementing corrective actions while supporting training and reporting processes.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and enforce safety policies and procedures to maintain compliance with environmental and workplace regulations.
• Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify risks and ensure adherence to safety standards.
• Implement corrective actions to address safety concerns and prevent future incidents.
• Provide comprehensive safety training and education programs for employees to promote awareness and preparedness.
• Monitor and evaluate workplace conditions to ensure a safe and productive environment.
• Collaborate with various teams to drive continuous improvement in health and safety practices.
• Maintain accurate records and reports related to safety compliance and training activities.
• Stay updated on industry standards and regulatory changes to ensure ongoing compliance.
• Oversee the proper use and maintenance of safety equipment.
• Act as a liaison with regulatory agencies during inspections and audits
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an operations or manufacturing environment, preferably in the technology sector.
• Strong knowledge of workplace safety standards and environmental compliance regulations, including Cal OSHA.
• Experience conducting safety audits and inspections.
• Familiarity with safety management systems and equipment.
• Ability to develop and deliver effective safety training programs.
• Proven track record in identifying risks and implementing corrective actions.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Certification in an environmental health and safety program is a plus.
