Cardiology of Southern California is looking for a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our office!

We are looking for either part time, per-diem or full time (full time is Monday-Thursday 7-9 hours per day). We run between 9-13 nuclear stress tests per day using a Digirad Cardius XPO camera with myoview and lexiscan. We perform testing on Mondays in El Cajon with a dual-head camera and Tuesday-Thursday in National City with a triple-head.

Job Summary
The Nuclear Medicine Technologist plays a vital role in the healthcare team, specializing in the use of radioactive materials for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. This position involves performing nuclear medicine procedures to assist in the evaluation of various medical conditions. The technologist will work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnostic imaging and patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Perform nuclear medicine procedures, including stress tests.
  • Administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients following established protocols.
  • Ensure lab is compliant with all laws and maintain certifications
  • Prepare and maintain equipment used for nuclear medicine imaging.
  • Conduct patient assessments to ensure proper understanding of procedures and address any concerns.
  • Collaborate with physicians to interpret scan results and provide insights based on imaging findings.
  • Maintain accurate records of procedures performed, including patient information and imaging results.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and aseptic techniques to minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff.
  • Stay updated on advancements in nuclear medicine technology and practices.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of nuclear medicine principles and practices,
  • Proficient in diagnostic evaluation techniques and medical imaging processes.
  • Solid understanding of human anatomy and physiology relevant to medical imaging.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology used in the healthcare field.
  • Starting IV's and pushing medications
  • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients and healthcare team members.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills for interpreting imaging results accurately.
