About the Position:
As a Strategic IT Advisor,you willwork with clients
totransformtheirorganizationsthrough the use oftechnology. Strategic IT Advisors are tasked with addressing the holistic technology needs of an organization to drive efficiency, employee/client satisfaction, and profitability.We are looking for a Strategic IT Advisor to focus on taking clients through a Compliance journey within their organization, specifically NIST and CMMC focused (HIPAA Compliance Experience a plus)
Requirements:
- Foundational understanding of CMMC 2.0, NIST SP 800-171, and DFARS cyber clauses (7012, 7019, 7020, 7021)
- Experience consulting with SMBs in regulated industries
- Ability to translate cybersecurity controls into actionable technical steps
- Strong knowledge of common SMB tech stacks (Microsoft 365, Azure, Active Directory, Windows Server, firewalls, etc.)
- Familiarity with GCC High or other FedRAMP-authorized environments
Responsibilities:
Assessments & Gap Analysis
- Conduct readiness assessments aligned to CMMC 2.0 (Levels 12)
- Map current client environments to NIST SP 800-171 and identify gaps
- Develop System Security Plans (SSPs), Plans of Action & Milestones (POA&Ms), and other required documentation
Strategic Planning
- Create tailored CMMC compliance roadmaps and timelines for SMB clients
- Advise on business decisions regarding enclave strategies, inheritance, and cloud service providers
- Educate clients on shared responsibility models and contractor obligations under DFARS clauses
Technical Implementation
- Guide or manage the implementation of required technical controls (e.g., MFA, log management, secure remote access, system hardening)
- Provide architectural guidance for compliant enclaves (e.g., GCC High, AWS GovCloud, on-prem segmentation)
- Coordinate with internal IT or third-party MSPs to validate proper configuration and control enforcement
Client Support & Enablement
- Train client stakeholders on cybersecurity best practices and compliance obligations
- Support clients through DIBCAC assessments, OSC self-assessments, and C3PAO engagements
- Maintain documentation and evidence packages for audit readiness
Additional Responsibilities
- Engage regularly with key stakeholders in the organization, including CEO, CFO, COO to establish direction for future IT investments and programs to help clients achieve their business goals.
- Continuously advise clients on technology trends and compliance requirements and opportunities within their organization.
- Write and deliver IT strategic roadmaps prioritizing initiatives and projects aligned to client's mission and business strategy.
- Build and elevate the GadellNet brand image within industry and the community.
- Lead and execute special projects including IT audits, application optimization projects, and other IT strategy related requests.
- Coordinate with GadellNet
Operations Team to ensure IT projects and services are strategically aligned with requirements and executed towards successful completion.
- Facilitate and perform pre-sales activities focused on generating new strategic consulting engagements and identifying opportunities
