Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A K-12 school in Paterson, NJ is seeking a part-time Special Education Teacher with certification in Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultant (LDTC) to provide specialized support for students with learning disabilities. This contract position runs from ASAP until the end of the school year and requires availability three days per week from 8:00 AM to 2:40 PM.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve a caseload of 30 to 50 students across grades K-12, providing tailored instructional support
- Assess and evaluate student learning needs related to learning disabilities
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with families and school staff
- Consult with teachers and support staff on strategies to accommodate student needs
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports for all students served
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Special Education certification required
- Certification in Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultant (LDTC) essential with certification in hand
- Previous experience working with K-12 students in special education settings
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with teams and families
- Ability to manage a varied caseload effectively and adjust instruction based on student needs
