Job Title: Registered Nurse – Med-Surg Adult (Watkins I)
Location: Gardner, MA 01440
Job Type: Contract – 13 Weeks
Shift: Days | 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM | 36 hours/week | Every other weekend & holiday (Mon–Sun rotation)
Position Overview
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a Registered Nurse for a Medical-Surgical Adult unit to provide comprehensive, high-quality patient care. The RN will be responsible for assessment, medication administration, patient education, care coordination, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
Required Qualifications
Education:
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
Licensure:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts
Certifications:
- BLS required
- ACLS required upon hire or within 60 days
Experience:
- Minimum: Less than 1 year of nursing experience
- Preferred: 1+ year of Med-Surg experience and telemetry exposure
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver safe and effective patient care in accordance with clinical standards and hospital policies
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and ongoing monitoring
- Administer medications, IV therapy, and other prescribed treatments safely
- Monitor cardiac rhythms, vital signs, lab results, and escalate abnormalities as needed
- Provide patient and family education to support discharge planning and continuity of care
- Assist with clinical procedures including pain management, orthopedic/traction devices, feeding systems, and chest tubes
- Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary care teams during rounds
- Prioritize care effectively and respond to emergencies as required
- Supervise and delegate appropriate nursing tasks while maintaining accountability
