Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, active SLP license and 1+ year of Speech-Language Pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An opportunity is available for a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide in-person services for K-12 students in a vibrant school district located in the scenic Black Hawk area of South Dakota. This position offers either full-time hours (37.5 per week) or part-time options, accommodating 2-3 days per week depending on availability. The school serves elementary through high school students, delivering a diverse and engaging caseload.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC) for SLP preferred
- Experience in school-based speech-language pathology
- Pediatric speech therapy expertise
- Familiarity with teletherapy practices is a plus, though this role is strictly in-person
- Eligibility to supervise or collaborate with Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs)
- Proficiency working with children across elementary to high school age groups
- Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) candidates are welcome to apply
Location and Hours:
- Based in Black Hawk, SD, near the beautiful hills and close to Mount Rushmore, offering stunning views and a welcoming community with rich cultural diversity
- Full-time schedule: approximately 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday (37.5 hours weekly)
- Part-time roles available for 2-3 days per week with a flexible schedule to suit program needs
Responsibilities:
- Conduct speech and language evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans for K-12 students
- Collaborate closely with four SLPAs assigned to support the speech and language program
- Participate actively with a supportive school director and staff focused on student success
- Monitor student progress and adjust therapy techniques accordingly
- Communicate regularly with educators, families, and interdisciplinary teams
