Job Summary and Mission
This position contributes to Shaw Baker’s success by overseeing all warehouse facilities and operations, including but not limited to: receiving and shipping of raw materials, packaging and finished goods, and inventory management. The Warehouse Operations Manager will be responsible for ensuring warehouse staff are completing required documentation for all incoming goods and generating and providing necessary documentation for outgoing shipments.
The Manager develops and maintains receiving, shipping and inventory procedures to maximize delivery and receiving effectiveness and efficiency. The Manager has a strong understanding of a variety of the field's concepts, practices and procedures, relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, and is capable of managing their own daily schedule to maximize productivity. Manager should be able to manage a staff of personnel working over 3 shifts. The Manager creates and develops different strategies to make a safer and faster progress on production, focuses effort on what matters, adapts to shifting priorities, and support the development of others. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each key responsibility satisfactorily.
Summary of Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Responsible for food safety and quality of food products.
- Maintains strict inventory control for raw ingredients, packaging and finished products.
- Ensures accurate and timely shipments and receipts.
- Enforces established safety guidelines; promotes a safe workplace.
- Maintains accurate records and metrics, audits as necessary.
- Performs monthly physical inventories; provides inventory reports.
- Processes returned, rejected, and obsolete products.
- Establishes and maintains professional communication with teammates and vendors.
- Identifies, documents, and implements opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Maintains a working knowledge of all operating systems pertaining to the work area.
- Trains, supervises, motivates warehouse staff; manages schedules and workflow.
- Performs other duties as assigned by upper management.

Basic Qualifications
Basic Qualifications are objective, non-comparative, and relevant requirements essential to performing a role anywhere in the company. Examples include minimum educational requirement or specific degrees, certifications, minimum number of years of experience in a similar role with similar scope or level of responsibility, experience with core technology tools or platforms such as Microsoft Office, equivalent military experience, etc.
- Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent (required) - bachelor’s degree or associate (preferred)
- Equipment/Software Skills: Computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Microsoft Word)
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations: Forklift license (a new training will be issued upon hiring), California Driver’s License (required)
- Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Language Requirements: Bilingual in English & Spanish (required)
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to understand written and verbal policies and guidelines, specifications and safety standards.
- Ability to work overtime as required, even on short notice.
- Basic math skills.
- Communicate to management when there is an issue, whether it is work related or personal.
- Must be able to follow strict safety, food security, and Good Manufacturing practices (GMP).
