Registered Nurse - PACU

Job Details:

\n

• 2 years of experience preferred with all surgeries except cardiac procedures
\n• Experience with pediatric patients required and critical care strongly preferred
\n• Must assist with coverage in Pre-Op department
\n• Level II trauma experience preferred
\n• Patient ratio of 2:1 during day shifts
\n• Call required with minimum of 1 weekend shift per contract
\n• Must have experience recovering patients from Plastics, Urology, Dental, and GYN surgeries
\n• Experience required with monitoring patients with nerve blocks, chest tube insertions, central lines, intubation, and arterial lines
\n• Must orient to Pre-Op Holding as nurses float between connected PACU and Pre-Op areas when needed
\n• Care for patients of all ages from 8 months to 100+ years old
\n• Daily census of 30 patients with 21-bed unit
\n• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIH
\n• Cerner charting system experience preferred
\n• Flu vaccine required with medical/religious exemptions allowed
\n• On-site drug screening required
\n• Ready to start within 3-5 weeks preferred
\n• Local candidates within 50-mile radius not accepted

The facility provides interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation. The PACU and Pre-Op Holding areas are connected, allowing for flexible staffing between departments to ensure optimal patient care coverage.
