Job Description

About Us

Information Specialists Group, Inc. (ISG) is a customer-centric, dynamic market research firm providing clients with reliable, high-quality data and insights. Our Data Department ensures the accuracy, efficiency, and security of all external deliverables and internal processes. As an EOS company, we are focused, accountable, and committed to working together to achieve our vision.

We are seeking a Data & Technology Specialist—a hands-on team player who is eager to solve complex problems today while helping us build the technology and data infrastructure that will keep ISG ahead of the curve. While this is a full-time opportunity, we are also open to exploring contract or fractional engagements with the right candidate.

Why This Role Is Exciting

  • Make a Difference: See your work come to life as accurate, efficient, and secure data that empowers clients to make better decisions and create real-world impact.
  • First Line of Innovation: Identify, test, and implement automation and AI-driven solutions to improve efficiency across the organization.
  • Cross-Team Impact: Collaborate closely with operations, account management, and clients to ensure that our data deliverables are not only accurate but also strategically valuable.
  • Growth & Learning: We value adaptability and learning agility over industry-specific software expertise. You’ll have the opportunity to explore new tools and methods while shaping the future of our data operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support research execution by managing participant communications (e.g., emails and reminders).
  • Ensure the accuracy, clarity, and on-time delivery of all client-ready data and research deliverables.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage automation, AI tools, and emerging technologies to drive operational efficiency and innovation.
  • Evaluate and recommend new software and technical solutions to keep ISG ahead of industry trends.
  • Partner with teams across ISG to streamline processes and improve client-ready deliverables.
  • Manage and optimize databases and data flows, including the design and maintenance of SQL-based systems (e.g., MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server).
  • Participate in data programming, processing, and quality assurance for research projects, ensuring accuracy and on-time delivery.
  • Troubleshoot IT issues (hardware and software) and coordinate solutions; understanding of network management is a plus.

Required Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of professional experience in data operations, research operations, IT support, or a related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, statistics, market research, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Hands-on experience with data processing and quality assurance, including working with datasets and ensuring accuracy of outputs.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, tasks, and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) for day-to-day project work and communications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills — including drafting clear participant emails and coordinating across teams.
  • Problem-solving mindset with resilience and adaptability when troubleshooting technical or operational challenges.
  • Experience using generative AI platforms (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot) for problem-solving, documentation, or workflow support.
  • Working from our Bloomington, MN office is highly desired.

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Interest or experience in applying AI or machine-learning–based tools (Alteryx, Power Automate, Zapier, or equivalent) to improve processes or automate data workflows.
  • Proficiency with relational databases and SQL (MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server).
  • Experience with programming/scripting for data processing.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for IT hardware and software; network management experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with market research software such as WinCross, Sawtooth Software Lighthouse, SPSS or similar tools is a plus but not required.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with a collaborative and resilient mindset.

Who You Are

  • You’re curious and adaptable, excited to learn new technologies and approaches.
  • You thrive on improving systems and processes and enjoy the challenge of making things work better, faster, and smarter.
  • You embrace ISG’s core values: Strive to Wow, Resilient, and Collaborative—and you’re eager to make a cultural as well as a technical impact.
  • You are a self-starter who is always pushing the boundaries of company norms with a forward-thinking eye to the future.

If you’re an early- to mid-career professional who wants to grow, innovate, and help shape the future of a forward-thinking market research firm, we’d love to hear from you.
