Job Description

Job DescriptionThe Inventory Clerk is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, tracking materials, and supporting warehouse and production operations within an oil & gas manufacturing facility. This role ensures proper documentation, stock levels, and material flow to support efficient plant operations.
Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate inventory records for raw materials, chemicals, parts, and finished goods
  • Receive, inspect, and record incoming shipments; verify quantities and condition of materials
  • Issue materials to production based on work orders and production schedules
  • Perform routine cycle counts and full physical inventory audits
  • Track inventory levels and notify management of shortages or discrepancies
  • Enter and update inventory data in ERP or inventory management systems
  • Label, organize, and store materials in designated warehouse locations
  • Coordinate with purchasing, warehouse, and production teams to ensure proper material flow
  • Prepare shipping documentation, packing lists, and inventory reports
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies and variances
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards when handling materials, including hazardous substances

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 1–3 years of inventory, warehouse, or clerical experience preferred
  • Experience in oil & gas, chemical, or industrial manufacturing environments is a plus
  • Familiarity with inventory systems, ERP software, or warehouse management systems (WMS)
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Excel, data entry, reporting)
  • Forklift experience or certification preferred
