Job DescriptionThe Inventory Clerk is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, tracking materials, and supporting warehouse and production operations within an oil & gas manufacturing facility. This role ensures proper documentation, stock levels, and material flow to support efficient plant operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate inventory records for raw materials, chemicals, parts, and finished goods
- Receive, inspect, and record incoming shipments; verify quantities and condition of materials
- Issue materials to production based on work orders and production schedules
- Perform routine cycle counts and full physical inventory audits
- Track inventory levels and notify management of shortages or discrepancies
- Enter and update inventory data in ERP or inventory management systems
- Label, organize, and store materials in designated warehouse locations
- Coordinate with purchasing, warehouse, and production teams to ensure proper material flow
- Prepare shipping documentation, packing lists, and inventory reports
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies and variances
- Ensure compliance with safety standards when handling materials, including hazardous substances
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- 1–3 years of inventory, warehouse, or clerical experience preferred
- Experience in oil & gas, chemical, or industrial manufacturing environments is a plus
- Familiarity with inventory systems, ERP software, or warehouse management systems (WMS)
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Excel, data entry, reporting)
- Forklift experience or certification preferred
