Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A school district in Bennettsville, South Carolina is seeking qualified Special Education Teachers to support both PreK and high school students for the current school year. This contract position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students across grade levels in a K-12 setting.

Responsibilities:

• PreK caseload at a primary school with a self-contained classroom serving 3-4 year old children
• High school special education resource teaching with approximately 22-25 students
• Potential high school self-contained classroom teaching with about 10 students (strong likelihood but not guaranteed)
• Perform required lifting and physical tasks associated with the classroom environment
• Collaborate with school staff to implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and adapt lessons to meet diverse student needs

Qualifications:

• Active South Carolina teaching license with Multi-Categorical and Early Childhood endorsements
• Experience teaching special education to PreK and/or high school students
• Ability to manage self-contained classrooms as well as inclusion/resource settings
• Strong communication and organizational skills to support student development and monitor progress

Location and Schedule:

• Onsite position based in Bennettsville, SC
• Contract duration from January 7, 2025 through June 2, 2026 for PreK assignment; similar dates for high school assignment
• Full-time schedule, approximately 37.5 hours per week

This role requires candidates to be onsite full time with no virtual/co-teaching option available. The district anticipates hiring 2 to 3 professionals to fill these special education positions.
