Warehouse Worker

Primary Role

Ensures shipping, receiving, storage, and distribution are performed in an efficient manner. Take precautions to protect warehouse contents against loss. Retains and reviews warehouse documents and reports. Must feel comfortable driving full-size box trucks.

Responsibilities

· Ensure the quantity and quality of incoming equipment.

· Help oversee inventory re-order levels of all equipment to ensure appropriate level and maximize turnover of equipment.

· Ensure that incoming equipment is properly received, unpacked, and stored.

· Maintain efficient inventory tracking system.

· Adjust incoming and outgoing inventory in information system.

· Help oversee inventory counts to assure accuracy of current monitoring system.

· Help coordinate year-end inventory count.

· Ensure the proper packing and delivery of equipment to customer site.

· Monitor the return of unused job-related inventory to vendor or stock.

· Retain and review warehouse documents and reports.

· Help maintain typical stocked items at a quantity Management desires.

· Other duties as required or assigned by Company Management.

Accountability

The Warehouseman will be accountable to the Warehouse Manager. Secondary accountability will be to the General Manger, employees, and Customers of the Company.

Qualifications

· Shall possess a minimum of one to five years’ experience in a warehouse environment.

· Must have excellent team development skills.

· Must have above average computer skills.

· Must have strong written and verbal communication.

· Must be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and work well with other people.

· Must be responsible, self-motivated, self-starter, personable, and well-organized.

· Must have superior customer service skills to deal with both internal and external customers.

· Must be able to effectively handle stressful situations.

· Must be able to read and effectively interpret general business documentation.

· Must have a valid and current driver’s license.

· Must be able to regularly lift, carry and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.

· Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception.

Physical, Mental and Environmental Requirements

· Employee is required to stand, walk, climb, sit, and use hands and fingers.

· Some light lifting of objects is required.

· Reaching, grasping, and carrying activities also required.

· The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

· Although most work is performed inside, occasional outside activities are subject to seasonal temperature fluctuations.
