Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist to join our team as an independent contractor (1099) . The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) will provide anesthesia care for patients undergoing plastic surgery procedures in an AAAASF-accredited facility. The CRNA will work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe and effective anesthesia care.
Key Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
- Preoperative Assessment:
- Conduct thorough preoperative evaluations of patients, including medical history, physical examination, and review of diagnostic tests.
- Develop anesthesia care plans tailored to individual patient needs and surgical procedures.
- Anesthesia Administration:
- Administer various types of anesthesia (local, regional, general) in accordance with AAAASF standards and facility protocols.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and adjust anesthesia levels as necessary to maintain patient safety and comfort.
- Intraoperative Care:
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure optimal patient care during procedures.
- Manage anesthesia-related emergencies and complications promptly and effectively.
- Postoperative Care:
- Provide postoperative pain management and monitor patients during recovery.
- Conduct postoperative evaluations and ensure patients meet discharge criteria.
- Compliance and Safety:
- Adhere to AAAASF standards and guidelines for anesthesia care.
- Maintain accurate and detailed anesthesia records.
- Participate in facility inspections and audits to ensure compliance with accreditation requirements.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Anesthesia program. Master’s degree or higher in Nurse Anesthesia.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) and CRNA in the state of Alabama.
- Certification by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a CRNA, preferably in a plastic surgery or outpatient surgical setting
- Familiarity with AAAASF standards and accreditation processes
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong clinical assessment skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Compassionate demeanor and ability to provide emotional support to patients.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, surgical procedures, and clinic operations.
- Strong clinical skills in anesthesia administration and patient monitoring.
- Attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
