Schedule: Full-time | Monday–Friday 6:00 AM–2:30 PM (some nights/weekends as needed)

NorCal Builders is looking for a highly skilled, team-oriented Journeyman Painter who takes pride in their craft and thrives in fast-paced commercial environments. Specializing in tenant improvements and healthcare facility projects, we’re seeking a hands-on professional who values clear communication, attention to detail, and working shoulder-to-shoulder with a team that delivers high standards—every time.
What You Will Do As a Journeyman Painter:
- Take painting projects from start to finish—from surface prep to final walkthrough
- Prepare surfaces including sanding, patching, caulking, priming, and repair work
- Apply paint, coatings, and finishes to commercial interiors and exteriors
- Work with a variety of materials including drywall, metal, wood, and concrete
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized job sites at all times
- Coordinate with project managers and other trades to keep projects on schedule
- Ensure high-quality finishes that meet company and client expectations
- Handle paint selection, mixing, and matching when needed
- Support the team wherever needed to keep projects moving efficiently
Requirements
What You’ll Need As Our Journeyman Painter:
- Experience with small drywall tasks is a plus (taping, top coating, applying texture)
- Ability to review or replan project scope / specifications is a plus (not required)
- Proven experience in commercial tenant improvement painting
- Strong knowledge of painting techniques, tools, materials, and finishes
- Strong attention to detail and pride in high-quality craftsmanship
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team with minimal supervision
- 5–8+ years of professional painting experience
- Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented Must have own truck and tools
- Flexibility for night and weekend work when required
Preferred Experience:
- Bonus: Hospital or healthcare facility painting experience
- Experience working in active commercial environments
