Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A Special Education Teacher position is available for a K-12 contract role in Claremont, NH, running from January 5, 2025, through approximately June 12, 2026. This virtual assignment offers up to 37.5 hours per week within a supportive school district environment focused on delivering student-centered education to meet diverse learner needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Write, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) using NHSEIS, the states data system for IEPs, case management, and evaluations.
- Collaborate virtually with teachers, parents, and service providers through platforms such as Canvas, Zoom, and iLearnNH.
- Utilize data tools and behavior-tracking systems like Panorama or district-specific software to monitor student progress.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local special education regulations, including IDEA and NH laws, particularly regarding virtual service delivery.
- Assess and support students with behavioral and affective disorders, providing positive behavioral interventions in both group and individual settings.
- Conduct observations and prepare comprehensive reports on student learning behaviors.
- Work collaboratively with school administrators, colleagues, students, families, and community members to foster a supportive learning environment.
Qualifications:
- Must hold all required New Hampshire state certifications for special education.
- Prior experience as a virtual case manager or special education teacher in New Hampshire is mandatory.
- Strong understanding of special education principles and behavioral supports.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a virtual setting.
