Job Description

Versant Sports is hiring a Social Media Producer/Editor who will be a part of our growing team of digital content experts on the Sports digital team. This role includes day-to-day content planning, strategy and distribution for Versant Sports’ social platforms. The ideal candidate has a deep knowledge of social media and user behavior and a strong track record in content strategy, social platform expertise, creativity and attention to detail. This role will focus on Versant’s sports portfolio, including but not limited to golf, NASCAR, Premier League, basketball and volleyball. Experience in branded content a plus.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the day-to-day content management and coverage of the Versant sports portfolio, including but not limited to Golf, NASCAR, Premier League, basketball and volleyball.

• Clip segments from live sporting events and studio shows in real time.

• Will work with digital video producers daily to identify key content to be distributed on social media

• Maintain voice and content standards across multiple platforms and brands.

• Work with Versant Sport’s video and editorial teams to create highly-sharable content

• Will share performance-based feedback on social media posts to drive strategy changes alongside the Director of Social Media and team members

• Will work with Director of Social Media to identify opportunities for increased engagement, video views, and follower growth

• Support branded content efforts by helping with the ideation and execution of social sales campaigns

• Engages in cross-functional planning and event management with marketing, sales, production and digital teams

• Works directly with talent and production teams to support in-studio and on-site content creation

• Contribute to team brainstorms by pitching content ideas that will help build video views and audience

• Juggle multiple projects with parallel timelines

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• BA or BS from a four-year accredited college or university or equivalent experience in Marketing, Communications, Business, Digital Media, or a related field

• Minimum of (3) years of experience producing and distributing content end-to-end for digital and social media platforms

• Experience and proficiency in all social platforms (Instagram, TikTok, X and Facebook, Threads and BlueSky)

• Experience with a variety of social and project management tools (Sprout Social, Airtable, Monday.com, etc.)

• Able to track and leverage KPIs, while understanding the rapidly changing social media landscape

• Skilled with the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere, After Effects.)

• Extensive knowledge of sports and internet culture

• Strong copy editing skills, ability to self-edit your own work

• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines

• Creative thinker who can look at digital trends and find innovative ways to tell a story in a piece of content

Eligibility Requirements:

• Must have ability to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings due to news cycles and breaking news.

Desired Characteristics:

• Demonstrated knowledge of sports, particularly Golf / NASCAR / WNBA and/or Premier League

• Familiarity with live-video clipping platforms a plus, such as Wildmoka, WSC, Grabyo, etc.

• Ability to shoot and edit content as needed a plus.

• Strong understanding of digital trends

• Strong organizational skills; attention to detail

• Strong communication skills and willingness to work in a team environment
