An elementary school in Paterson, NJ is seeking a skilled Special Education Teacher with expertise as a Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultant (LDTC) to support 3rd and 4th-grade students. This contract position, aligned with the new school year, focuses on delivering specialized instruction tailored to the unique needs of students with individualized education programs (IEPs).
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver targeted, differentiated instruction aligned with students' IEPs to address academic and developmental goals.
- Utilize data analysis to inform instructional strategies and monitor student progress toward achieving IEP objectives.
- Write prehensive, data-driven Present Levels of Academic Achievement and Functional Performance (PLAAFPs).
- Collaborate regularly with the Child Study Team, related service providers, and families to develop and support student success.
- Implement evidence-based strategies that enhance language development, academic achievement, and social-emotional growth.
- Maintain a structured, supportive, and engaging classroom environment conducive to learning and personal growth.
Qualifications:
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education, specifically in Learning and Language Disabilities or equivalent credentials.
- Experience working with elementary-aged students who have diverse learning needs.
- Strong knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and pliance.
- Proficiency in behavioral management techniques and instructional best practices.
- Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills for effective teamwork with multidisciplinary teams and families.
