Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Make a meaningful impact as a contract Special Education Teacher, specializing in ASD/DCD, in a dynamic K–2 center-based classroom near Minneapolis, MN. This full-time opportunity begins as soon as possible and continues through the end of the current school year. You will work closely with an experienced multidisciplinary team, including paraprofessionals, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, psychologists, and more, supporting young learners with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Developmental Cognitive Disabilities.
Key Qualifications:
- Minnesota Special Education Teaching License (required)
- Appropriate licensure in ASD and/or DCD
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or related discipline
- Experience working in center-based or self-contained classroom settings
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Preferred Experience:
- Previous experience managing a caseload in a similar classroom
- Background in supporting K–2 age groups
- Expertise in implementing behavior management strategies (PBIS, ABA, etc.)
- Experience supervising or working with paraprofessionals
- Proven track record of maintaining compliance while handling diverse student needs
Role Responsibilities:
- Manage a classroom of approximately 6 students with ASD and DCD needs
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs tailored to individual students
- Deliver differentiated instruction based on each child's unique learning profile
- Collaborate with support staff and related service providers
- Implement effective behavioral and academic supports
- Ensure all state and district compliance requirements are met
